hello fellow turtle owners.
I have a very worrying question.
My turtle gets both on top of or over another turtles head then gets its front legs and starts pulling at its own head as if it is trying to pull its head off. the other turtles just put their heads back in to their shell when he is doing this.
Can someone please tell me if this is normal as i have only had them a couple of weeks and i am still learning.
Thank you

SOunds almost like a mating ritual type move. I wouldnt worry to much unless it starts biting.

yep then that's what they call the "mating dance". how big/ small are ur turtles? it is expected to be a mating thing but that's not always the case Smile

i think it might depend on the species, but for RES's at least, its 5 years old for the female, maybe a bit older for the male. boys mature slower than girls after all.
