Hi all,
I am building a big basking spot outside the tank for my turtles and I wanted to put some plants up there for them to hide around and possibly eat. I know they will take bites of it no matter what so I was wondering if anyone knew what common plants (sold at armstrong or other generic nurseries) are okay for them to eat and what I should avoid. Thanks. |

| Thanks for the link, really insightful as to what aquatic plants are okay. I was kinda wondering more so about non-aquatic plants, ones that don't require any immersion into water. I have seen plants at Petco that are listed for reptiles, but the people there tend to not know too much about turtles and charge way to much for plants. If you have any sights that focus on just terrestrial plants that would be great. Thanks for the help. |

dixieee, aren't dandelions ok for turts? I think I remember seeing that somewhere.... it's been so long since I was on the board it's hard to remember anything! That might be kinda complicated though to have those growing on the basking area.... sorry I'm not more help... I'll have to sleep on it... maybe I'll come up with something else _________________ shade & sweetwater! |
