The water can go about to halfway or more. If the level is close to the edge then make sure the turtle cant climb out from the basking spot over the edge. _________________ Horrible turtle owner.

edges of tanks are the least of your worries. the corners are better (or worse , if your the owner) for turtles to brace themselves on and climb out. peices of wood or other substanse on the corners, and around the edges if you worry about that as well, will block the turtles off from escaping. for the corners you use triangle peices with an edge of the triangle over the water and the opposite point of that edge on the corner. _________________ I love my turtles!  |

Thanks for all your input guys! Means alot coming from all the experts!
It is of course a work in progress. Have since added a heater because the water was getting down to low 70's at night with the light off. _________________ RES owner in NM
