I have guppies in my tank that are meant for food. (needless to say, they got bored with this batch and now i have a zillion babies) anywho, george, who some of you may remember as being sick a month ago, doesnt eat. he used to eat, but then i started taking them out of the tank to feed them in margerine containers. Fred is fine, he just eats and then i put him back. George used to be fine with it, but now hes not. im worried about causing him stress by doing this. so my first question is: Do i keep feeding him inside the tub, or do i give in and do it in the tank. the problem with this is that Fred is a huge pig and eats way faster than little Georgie (Fred is about 3x the size of george now, too) and then goes and takes georgies food. so should i feed fred in the tub, and leave him in there until i finish feeding george?. my second question is, i was feeding my zillion guppies last night, both turtles were in the tank. George ate fish food! i ws happy that he was eating so i kept giving it to him. i read the ingredients on the food jar thingy, and its all fish and crab and stuff. along with oats and other grains. is it okay for him to eat this as a staple diet? i tried feeding him this in the tub to no avail. so i guess i have to feed george and the fish at the same time.... I also have a concern (wow this post is getting really long) when i was feeding them the fish food (Fred joined in) Fred accidentally bit georgies tail! I immediately took george out and inspected him, and hes okay, so i put him back. Fred was startled, as was George, and they sort of appologized to each other, with george riding on fred's back as they sometimes adorably do. Should i be worried, or just be more careful when feeding them? any comments would be appreciated, im sorry its so long.

are you sure fred is a boy? anytime i have a turtle growing two to three times faster than the other, i just go and assume it's a girl

fish food as a staple diet? i don't think it would make a great one but it doesn't hurt them to eat it. have u tried feeding georgie guppies? i just snag a few and hand feed it to the turtles now and then, they dont mind and i get a kick out of it.. chasin guppies and all

i think the bite was just an accident cause he's a pig right, it happens, and the tail is still there.. no harm no foul

just have some tough love for georgie and keep feeding him in the outside tub.. try feeding him every other day like that.. when he goes hungry on those non feeding days, he'll come to appreciate the tub days.
