i'm just wondering if anybody knows what type of turtles you would get in a pet shop????????

Depends on what they can get in I suppose.

The one near me rarely sells turtles as he's an independant retailer and it's usually just pot luck when he actually gets them in. Turtles are rather difficult to get a hold onto in the UK and I can't really comment about the US. Being a bigger country I suppose they'd be a lot more common in pet shops and stuff.

If you ask for a particular breed [the legal ones of course Rolling Eyes

] I doubt it'd be difficult for them to be imported (?) in.

I only know of one pet shop that sells turtles, and they only sell yellow bellied and red eared sliders.
To get more variety, you would need to go to a reputable reptile shop I would imagine (obviously, you can tell more or less straight away if the shop's reputable, just take a look at the living conditions for all their reptiles)
