hi there
if i put my finger on the side of the tank my turtle swims as fast as he can to it and then lifts both his/her front legs above his/her hed and then makes them shiver!! He has never done this before and i need to know why. Could it mean its ready to mate? and how do i tell if its a male or female ( ive had it for like over 1yr and feel bad ) pls rely some1 |

| That is the mating dance. Usually, depending on male or female, you should still have a few years before they are ready to mate. Males have short fat tails long claws. Females this tails and small nails. If you can post a picture someone here can identify your turtle for you. |

yeah, that sounds like the mating dance. I have two baby turtles and they have been doing it very often lately. One of them try to run away from the other because everytime they go to the bottom of the tank, one of them is always trying to do the mating dance. I wonder if that has something to do with their sex.. they are too little for me to know if they are boy or girl |

if u know good homes for the babies yeah but otherwise don't get him a girl cz those eggs need lots of care and + if u don't have experience in breeding then don't go for it _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo
