My male RES sometimes will open n close its mouth a few times when i let him out of his tank.
It looks as if he is talking.
Why does he respond in this way? Does this act normal?

| Listen closely, he could be hissing it at you or trying to ward you away. Once he gets used to you it wont happen as much, but sometimes they get a little defensive. |

The sound from him is crack sound or just sound like a toad.
Does this sound he made is hissing act?

no no.. i read that its just normal behavior... because its scared! mine does it ALL THE TIME _________________ Claire, owner of 2 Male Red-Eared Sliders:
