i have three turtles who i believe to all be females..all flat shelled and short claws. we found them in the river so we dont know how old they are...have had them atleast 6 months. one of them is doing the mating dance thing to one of the other ones...and now im finding white root looking things in the bottom of the tank about this long ------------ and some of them have clear like balls on the ends of them...please help have no idea what they are!!!!

Sounds like they may have parasites. Wild caught turtles often do. They should be seen by a vet as there is no over the counter meds available to treat this in turtles. You should also save a sample to take in with you.

It is common that females with do the mating dance with other females and males will do it to other males. This happens esspecially when you have multiple turtles of just the same sex in a tank.

wouldnt they move if they were parasites though?? they dont wiggly around like when a cat or dog have worms you know....they are longer than that....i havent seen anymore since i cleaned them out this morning

I think you should put them back where you got them from, this is why turtles are becoming endangered. If about 10 million turtles are bred in capivity there is no need to rape them their natural habitat to place them in a tank for your own pleasure. Sorry IMO
