the bones will need to grow but find no place so they'll get jammed and the shell will be deformed. in the long run, the turtle will die _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

I figures as much, i just wanted to know the details cause i did a presentation on red eared sliders and i needed to know some things that i don't really look into cause i just go by the rule 10 gallons per inch of shell.
Thanks guys _________________ *CUTIE* |

In selecting a tank for my turtles I look more at the demensions rather then how many gallons the tank holds. I've upgraded my tank twice since getting my turtles (hatching) in Sept. 2004. They are now 9.5 inches over the carapace (female), and 8.5 inches for the male. I have them in a 18 by 40 inch tank, with about 6 inches of water, they are doing quite well. Come summer they go out in the real world (pond). _________________ John Mueller |
