HI! My name is Cindy and I would like to introduce myself! I am a huge fan of turtles, so much that I wrote a book about one! My husband and I regularly rescue turtles in our neighborhood and own a little turtle of our own named Jeremy, who the main character of my book is named after.
I am looking for contact information for the owner of this website. If anyone should have an email address (or whatever else you may have) I would be very appreciate.
Have a terrific Thursday!
Regards,
Cindy _________________ "If you want to be happy for a year, win the lottery. If you want to be happy for life, love what you do." Mary Higgins Clark |

Awww. thank you very much! My book is geared towards 6 to 8 year olds, and it's basically a tale of a turtle who is adopted by a young boy who doesn't take care of him. Here's the small snippett I sent to the agent:
The adoption of a pet turtle is only the beginning of a non-stop adventure, as Jeremy the Turtle escapes the clutches of his cruel owner. After concocting a master plan with neighborhood friends, Jeremy performs legendary feats from being shot out of his tank by a bungee cord to racing to freedom in a remote control racecar. But most of all, this is the story of a turtle looking for his true home.
It's a very fun book to say the least!
Great to meet you!!!! Thanks for writing to me!! _________________ "If you want to be happy for a year, win the lottery. If you want to be happy for life, love what you do." Mary Higgins Clark |

That sounds like a book my son would love! Our turtle was a b-day present for him, but it turns out I spend more time lovin on her and taking care of her! My son likes to take her out on walks when the weather here permits. Has your book been published already? I think that's amazing that you've written a book, do you mind my asking how old you are? Do you have kids? _________________ shade & sweetwater! |

I don't mind at all. I'm 26 and have been married for 3 years now (together 7 years). We don't have kids but one day will! We have 2 cats and the 1 turtle - which is the littlest amount of pets we ever owned at one time in this 1 bed. apartment (at one time, we had 12!) but we soon realized that it is not fair to not have enough room for so many animals.
The book has not been published yet. I am querying agents right now to find representation. It's a long, lengthy, involved process that might appear boring so I won't get into it all
I've been writing for 3 years professionally (still not full time though). I've loved turtles my ENTIRE life and only as an adult am I able to have 1 finally as a pet. I enjoy rescuing them too (as does my husband). I actually prefer to see them in the wild, but after owning one I don't think we'll ever not have a turtle as part of our family! The only thing is, I wish I could find some sort of statistic(s) on how many turtles are abandoned each year, whether it be through a shelter or pet store. Oops gotta go to a meeting! _________________ "If you want to be happy for a year, win the lottery. If you want to be happy for life, love what you do." Mary Higgins Clark |
