Ok, I know many of you have been patiently waiting for pics of my babies..took a couple today got a photobucket account so lets try it..if this works look for my boxies next! But here are a couple of Johnny and June! My african sulcatas...enjoy!

No problem! They are a bit on the dirty side as they like to dig and throw dirt all over themselves. Confused

These guys are just tiny babies yet. I wish I lived in a more temperate climate so I could take a few in, the rescues are full of these guys. Wink

Darn!.......I knew I should have took picks of the living arrangements!!! Sorry I forgot. I will though. I'm leaving to get married today so I'm kinda busy right now, but I will get some more pics real soon. It's actually real funny you mention where they live. They DO NOT USE THERE ENCLOSURE!!! They sleep in the same spots every night but never in the house made for them. They also sleep separate. Even when I have put them together in the middle of the night June will walk all the way back around to her spot to sleep???? Go figure! ANyway here they are eating a snack.

well we are back and the honeymoon was great! Thanks for eveyones best wishes and kind words!

On topic... I will post a website probably tomorrow that is a very educational first hand experiance with a sulcata owner. While these guys are very cute and full of personality, this breed is for VERY FEW PEOPLE!! About 99% of the people on this site do not meet the requirments to be an owner of one of these guys. Im lucky to live in Texas and own two different pieces of land and have access to another 300+ acres with two stock tanks (these are like small ponds used for cattle or fish most of the time). I have also planted a mixture of grasses native to there land for them too graze on. Anyway if you are thinking about purchasing a larger tortoise please wait and do some research before making a huge mistake.
