Hello, I came across your forum while searching for some answers.
A lil about me: I am a wife and mother of three.I have two dogs,one cat ,tropical fish and a red ear slider turtle Smile

whom my kids named "DUDE" from the movie Nemo........lol When we got him he was the size of a half dollar and is about two half dollars right now.We have only had him for about four months if that.Right now I have him in a ten gallon tank that is filled half way with water and rocks which come out of the water for him to bask.I have a filter and heater as well for him.What I have been doing is keeping the aquarium light on during the day and at night turn that one off and put the heat lamp on with one of those reptile bulbs that I was given when we bought him.Is the lighting ideal for him or should i be doing something else? I am getting ready to upgrade his tank to a 20 gallon long so I can do more rock features this wont happen for another week though so I am looking for ideas in setting it up as well.Also I don't use any gravel for the bottom of the tank and I read that they like having that to dig, should I add some gravel? ok so u're on the right track. lights are good, tank is good for now, no gravel is even better (cz they might try eating it and get their intestines blocked). but if u want my opinion, wait for another while b4 u upgrade cz a 20-gallon doesn't differ much from a 10 so if u're gonna save for a bigger thing then u can wait for some more time and get a 50-gallon. that way u won't have to upgrade every few months..just a thought Smile
