Hi I'm new but I have been reading all the things on your sight for 3 days now so I though that I should just ask what is the best Filter/Heater/anything else I need?

oh I forgot to say that I am working on getting a RES but I have to wait until the pet store gets them in stock.I have a 60 gal tank and this would be my first turtle.

Welcome to the board. Congrats on getting a new turt! Most of the heaters work well, just try not to get a glass one, they can get broken and your turt could end up injured. As for the filters, I like my canister filter that sits outside of the tank... just remember that a turtle is technically dirtier than a fish so it will need to be rated for atleast double the amount of water in your tank. Wink

Jager makes heaters made out of pyrex, will not break unless taking a hammer to it. Marineland makes one out of aluminum with a coating on it.
Larger cannister filters work well.
