Usually males start breeding at 3 years of age, and females at 5. I think your little ones are still too young, but keep an eye on them anyway. _________________ -= Shannon =- |

the turtle dance is said to be a mating ritual but that's not always true since they do it to turtles from the same gender or even objects in their setup such as rocks! ur turtles might be just playing or i don't know _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

They could be hitting puberty.
And it's true, animals of the same gender will "dance" with one another. I have two female rabbits that do it all the time, and two male toads that do it too, LOL. I have also heard that female cows are known to do this. I think it's pretty funny, haha.
Also, because they may be starting to "dance" doesn't mean they are old enough to actually mate. I have a female toad as well, and even though the males court her all the time, they are too young to breed yet. I hope someday though I find little eggs. _________________ -= Shannon =- |
