Repost from first aid because I was not sure if it is a first aid question or behavior question  Ok Im new to the world of Turtles, have had Sammy for a little over a month.
His tank is a 20 gallon critter kit with the filter halfway down the wall. I have gravel in the bottom and a floating shelf unit that came with the critter kit that is sucked onto the wall. Also a sunlamp in the hood.
So... Sammys been eating pellets and seemed happy but the other day I noticed a slim around his mouth and took it off with a q tip but it keeps coming back. Eating, I think he is eating, it looks like it but I can say that he is not eating as good as he used to. I mean I used to put romain in there and he would shred it up and this last time he ate some of it but he did not shred it to bits like he did the time before.
and it is since then that I have noticed the slim. Also the other day he had gotten stuck behind the floating ledge faced down and I saved his little life. He rested for a while on his ledge after that episode. Also lets see... He has been actually laying his whole head on this rock... yea he pokes his head out like a little hotdog and lays it on the rock in the sun.
Anyway Imworried about him, any pointers will be greatly appreciated |

| ooh..sounds like an infection! I would take him to the vet. It's always nice to have a good checkup atleast once a year anyway. I hope he gets better! |

just a fyi...he went to the doctors last week and is getting shots every other day. he is doing good   |
