| I found some chicken and salmon in our fridge today and put a couple little peices of each into Kalas' tank today...(we got him a new filter btw) and when i looked a few minutes later he seemd to be sitting in the spot where the chicken had sunk and it seemed to be gone!! but then I put another peice in and I dont think he's touched it....it's so hard to tell if he's really eaten anything...*sighs* Also got him a "turtle dock" but he only hides under it right now...getting the UVB light asap now! tis the only thing really left... |

why don't u put him in a separate tank when feeding such oily food. u'll save so much cleaning (even if the filters are there) and it'll be easy to tell if he ate them or not. one thing u could do here, hold it for him near his nose. in that way he might smell it better and u'll get "access" to his mouth..hand-feeding _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

ah, thanks for the advice..tis greasey stuff...specially as he seemd uninterested in the salmon...I was thinking of putting him in the bath tub sometime to feed him maybe...but it's so big for him he would probably just swim around....
He's unfrtunately too shy yet to get him to hand feed just yet..I've done that a couple times though, took a peice of dried shrimp that had been floating in there a bit and put it in front of his face, but he just pulled back into his shell....maybe he's really picky.... |

if he sees u around too much u'll be familiar to him and he'll notice u and then eat what u hand-feed him _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo
