My vet suggested that I feed my turtle outside of her tank since often turtle will poop after they eat. She said that this would cut down on waste in the tank and it would make it safer for my turtle to live in. I currently do water changes (55 gallon tank) ever week. She has outgrown the tank and I'm saving up to buy her a new one. My question is for all of you who currently feed their turtle outside the tank: How do you do it? Is seems like such a hassle. Water straight from the hose is too cold to put the turtle in and it would take a while to fill up a container with warm water from the kitchen facet. I'd like some real world example of what other people are doing. Thanks.

i feed one of my turtles in a separate container and i used to heat some water to fill it up with then i saw my mom once taking out the turtle with water (like fishing with a net) from the same tank and i found it easier Embarassed

That's a great idea, dixieee, I think I'll have to use that one. Wish I could be of some help with this topic, but I'm new to feeding outside the tank too! Laughing
