I forgot to say stuff. So this is my murray river turtle (australian) I wish i had one of your cute sliders but i dont... anyways fred is beautiful and has a personality to match. he is very friendly likeing to climb on my lap and just sit. he likes to climb my boyfriends back and try and sit on his shoulder.

He can tell which of my friends he likes, which he doesn't and who he has not meet before.

He was a birthday present from my boyfriend
He is two years old, just under the size of a dinner plate.
He should happily live in captivity for aproximatly 60 years yet in the wild can live to above 100+

when i got him he was this size of an australian 20cent peice. his shell would have been aproximatly 3cm in diameter.

He loves to live in water yet walks around the house for at least a hour a day. he has made best friends with a kissing qourami. the fish recently got sick so i moved it in with my african cichlids (malawi lake), and he got depressed and would not eat. that lasted for a few days (the fish was sad as well) so they are back together. She cleans his shell for him. and he loves it!!!

he is sooooooooo cute! i was looking at the pics and my two year old sis ran over and was like TURDAL! (thats how she pronounces it...) she looked at the pics with me and kept pointing at your turtle... anyway your turtle is so cute and looks so sweet! i love that first picture!

And i agree that fred is very handsome however i love the fact that your sliders and such are so beautifully coloured they look like they have been painted...

I am trying to find out if i can keep a res slider over here (Im in australia) and if so how to find one. My fiance is not so impressed as he is like, thinking that our time is kinda restricted cause of fred. (however he does love him too)

But he is a lovely natured turtle and is my baby

he's just so cute u can't stop smiling back to him. lol and i like his story with the fish, so emotional:lol:

every turtle species has something special. they share one thing though, great pets Smile

What you feel he may not have in looks, he more than makes up for in personality! That smile just wins you over, and the story is so sweet.
I'm sure your b/f will adjust soon. My dh is the same way. After all these years you'd think he'd never be jealous over turtles of all things!lol But he's coming around. Wink

Good luck with him and keep the stories coming. Smile

Yeah he loves him really. I cant keep sliders over here coz you have to be a registered zoo.... hmmm not gonna happen any time soon... and i do think he's very pretty...

yeah hes beautiful but check out what his last adventure he has done! I wrote it under General discussion/Uh Oh guess what my turtle did. Very very bad..

but he is lovely and currently having breakfast.
