My turtle is eating the gravel in the tank. Is he doing that for a reason, or is it just a turtle thing? Should I just remove the gravel from the tank? Should I give him more food? Or is gravel eating normal and should not worry about it? Thanks.

it doesn't mean that ur turtle isn't getting enough food but that's a bad habit they have (always looking for something to nibble on). it is dangerous and u should remove them now bcz they can block his intestines and he wouldn't be able to extract wastes. now make sure that nothing is stuck in there so keep watching for his hmm poop

Yes, I agree -- get the gravel out of there ASAP! Replace it with river stones no smaller than his head. You'll find that the tank is easier to clean with these, too.

And my turtles spend a fair amount of their underwater time moving the stones around -- redecorating! That's fun to watch.
