Ok...Ive had my turtle for almost a week and he hasnt eaten anything. I put floating food in his tank, guppies and even tuna and still nothing. He is active but it would make me feel a lot better if i saw him eat something. Any suggestions?? |

he's new and it usually takes them a while b4 they begin eating normally. a week is ok bcz they can hold for up to 2 weeks without food but if u want to give it a try, keep something in the tank and leave him in silence. he might feel safer to eat if it's dark around too. seems u've got a shy little turtle but don't worry he won't starve himself good luck _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

| Also, I would check the water temp. Make sure it is warm enough, if its cold they don't eat. When I got my turtle, he seemed to eat everything...try dried shrimp, those are tasty... |

| on top of him not eating, his shell is kinda turning a dull color. ive seen him shed some of it when i clean his tank. Is that what it is? Is he just shedding or is it a bigger problem then that? |

ok i guess its ok, or maybe some algae. u can use a soft toothbrush and scrub the shell very gently under running warm water _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

GOOD NEWS!! He likes tuna and hes eating.
ANOTHER QUESTION
He wont eat his floating food. Im afraid that the tuna isnt giving him what he needs as far as vitamins and stuff. How do i get him to eat them? |

soak the pellets in tuna water, they'll get the smell and taste and will hopefully attract him
good luck _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo
