Hi Everyone.
It's nice to find such a neat forum about turtles. I was hoping to get a couple of red eared sliders, but I wanted to put them in a big tank with a sort of beach set up, half water, half sand and rocks. I was also hoping to have fish in the tank with them. Do they get along? Or get each other sick? Thank you!

welcome to the board
the beach-setup idea is nice but sand isn't suggested to be used bcz it makes the tank a mess and might ruin the filter. as for rocks, i have to tell u to make sure they're big (bigger than turtle's head) so ur guys don't try to eat them.
for the fish, they probably wouldn't have the chance to get along cz ur turtles will be having them for lunch or dinner _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

| My turtle lives with fish, but they aren't expensive so if he is able to catch one and munch on it.....well all the power to him. |

Thanks. What kind of fish will survive in the tank at the temperature necessary for the turtles?
I guess we'll try to go for rocks that are bigger than usual and do sand more in a sand box area. That may still work? Thanks again. |

Also remember that any fish are going to be eaten. Feeder Guppies, Feeder Goldfish (Carp), Ghost shrimp. Anything thats freshwater and inexpensive.
