|
|
Hi,
I have several turtles. One of them a red ear slider. They live in a outdoor enclosure of approx. 30 sqft, which half is water.
The temperture is right, the condition/setup great.
What I dont understand is that it burries itself constantly. The others dont.
Is there a problem? |

hmm this is weird cz usually RES's are bullies so u have it for a year now, does it do it since then?? if that's a new behavior, it could be getting ready to hibernate. what other species do u have in there with it? did u notice that anyone's trying to attack it? _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

| I have 2 smaller Res and a Yellow Ear. The behavior is pretty new (few month) and hibernation is not a factor, I live in the desert. |

not necessarily actual hibernation. it could be changes in the weather that made it think so. btw, who excluded deserts from cold weather?? i live in a desert too and it gets pretty cold in here + remember that turtles are cold-blooded so ur temps aren't like theirs. my expectations would be in order:
1- trying to hibernate
2- just enjoys it in there
3- feels more secure (although it should've done it from the beginning except if it discovered recently that it can dig!!)
4- i wouldn't go for that but maybe it's trying to lay eggs. hmmm i'm not convinced myself with that though _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo
