Hi All,

We have two snails in our tank to eat away at the algae that may or may not grow within the tank. My question is, what do we do about the algae that is growing on the floating dock? We've been scrubbing the heck out of it every few days, but sure enough, it always comes back. Is there anything I can put in the tank to prevent this from happening? Any ideas why this is happening? Any help is very appreciated.

is the tank located anywhere near a window? sunlight helps algae to grow. there are algae eater fish that u may get to help in that too. btw, growing algae is a good sign cz it means that ur setup is "healthy" Smile

I have the same situation, the ramp is about the only thing that gets algae, so I just scrub as much as will come off and don't worry about the rest, since what we are trying to do is to make the setup as natural for them as possible, what is more natural than algae? Very Happy

at least your turtle doesn't eat the snails, no matter how big.

Sorry it's taken so long to get back - it's been crazy these last few days. No, the tank is not in front of a window we read about how this accelerates tank growths so we decided not to do it (not that we have the room in front of the window anyway, LOL.

So algae is a good thing? I guess we'll just be cleaning up our dock more often for my own aesthetic pleasure - cause frankly I think it's icky, LOL. Thanks for your help guys! I appreciate it.

Smile
