i got some stone from menards to be the NEW basking area for my RES's i was just wandering does anyone have any suggestions on building up the rocks so that it won't callapse on my poor turtles?? _________________ Disturbed is the best band ever! |

i don't know but maybe it's better if u get one big rock or block so the turtle doesn't get in danger _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

sounds like a good idea. also you can get like what i got, is a little stick-on "island" as i call it, that goes on the side of that tank and they just sit on it. nothing to fall or crash on the poop lil guys

I agree probably a one-piece deal is best, but if your dead set on using the rocks I suggest glueing them together with aquarium sealant. _________________ 2 big RES, 1 Flowerhorn Cichlid, 1 Cockatiel. I will alway hold a place in my heart for Daphne, my albino RES. |

| I used rocks for a while. Just make sure they arent unequally proportioned. It should go up like steps. Widest at the bottom and narrow (not to narrow) at the top. Make sure there is something in the crevaces so the rocks dont avalanche. I use one of those self leveling docks. They are about $12 at pet stores. You dont have to worry about those falling. By the way...use flat thick/heavy rocks. Not round uneven ones. |
