Give it a couple of weeks until it gets used to its new home, it will probably be too scared to eat for a week or so, that is normal for a scared turtle, don't worry, they can go without eating for a couple of weeks or more, but you should still offer food, try giving it some boiled chicken to get it to eat, but make sure you offer the pellets too, or else it will get used to eating only that food and not want the pellets. _________________

hey there...
ok i too am new to the turtle thing bt mine has lived about a month with me so far and here is waht i have done
first, get a 20 gal MINIMUN tank.
get an "island" or somthing for the tank, that the turtles can bask on. that is a MUST the turtles need the sunlight for the vitamins for their skin. you can use a 60-100 watt lightbulb with a lamp if nessassary.
you need a water filter, submerged in the water.
a thermomater 70 ish degrees. and baking area of about 90ish
and maybe even a tank heater to keep the water warm.
pm me and il be here if you need anything or have any questions..
