| I have just picked up one of these turtles from the middle of the road. I assume this is the type from research on the net. My daughter got bit by it today but I have not seen any info stating that they are biters. Also I was wondering if it is possible for it to have lived in the wild. It was not near the water, maybe someone turned it loose. I don't have an aquarium but my sister in law is considering adopting it. She has an aquarium and has already done the research and was planning to buy one of these turtles. Do you have any advice as to how I can keep it healthy until she gets her aquarium ready (at least 2-3 days)? It has been in the 90's here, I don't know how it has survived. |

Since the turtle was a rescued turtle, it may have been trying to protect itself, that is really the only way to defend itself, other than running away.
You can buy a rubbermaid container for the meantime.
Since you won't be keeping it, you can go without buying most of the equipment necessary, but I would suggest putting a clamp lamp with a 75 watt bulb so that it can get some heat, another thing to remember until you pass it on is that semi-aquatic turtles (RES), have to eat in the water because it helps with swallowing. _________________
