What all do I need for my turtle? I think it is a box turtle, although I am not sure. I have it in a large rubbermaid box, it;s about 3 feet by 2 feet. I have it a box to hide in, although it won't crawl under it. I also have a small dish of water, not much though, it's a small plate that goes with my daugters tea set. The turtle can sit in it if it wants to. What kind of lighting do I need? I am clueless as to what I need.

I did get an appointment with a vet in my area, there are only 3 around and only 1 had any experience with turtles. I have to drop the turtle off early Wednesday morning, and they will call me when they figure it out, could take all day.

Almost forgot, for lighting righ now, I have the light from my 5 gallon fish tank sitting on top of the box.

go to this link http://www.allturtles.com/care_sheets/land_turtle_care.php and read all the different things on the land turtle. Also if you can go out and get some books and read as much as you can online. I dont own a land turtle but my understanding is that you need a heat light, you can buy light fixtures at your local pet store and get a basking light. The temperature should be around 75 degrees. There are other important things you need for your turtle as well. Look around on the net you'll find out a lot of information. Somebody who owns a land turtle will be able to help you out more.
