i have a really crazy story to tell.. with a great ending!

my sis and i were coming home from our morning college classes, and i was driving. well i decided to take a different route then what i usually take (boy i'm glad i did!). anyway, i spotted something crawling around on the highway. i pulled my car over once i noticed.. and told my sis to go get it. this white car came charging down the highway afterwards.. stopped behind me. noticed my sister was chasing something in a sugar cane field.. and left.. hahaha!

you know what my sister and i found?

our newest turtle, kane! he's a beautiful big res! Very Happy we're going to keep him as a pet. normally we'd return him into the wild, but for some reason, the back of his shell has a deformity, like he was ran over by a car or something. that.. and we found him on a highway Sad not such a great place for turtles.

well i'm off. my sis is scrubbing the algae off with a toothbrush, and i'm going find a huge tupperware tub until we can get him a tank for his needs Smile

I'm not going to try & pronounce your name, but cool story! Highways are definately not a good place for turtles. Good thing you & your sis came along to save him. He'll love you both forever! Arrow

thank you all for the lovely compliments on him. lets see..

his shell is 7 inches, i don't know about his body. he can't stay still long enough lol. he loves to climb.. my sis and i took him outside today and we put him in our mom's rock garden while we went swimming.. he found this angel statue and started climbing on it.. then started climbing the fence! he's really smart too! he was looking for the smallest part of the fence so he could climb over it.. really tenacious guy Very Happy

and yes dixiee.. you're right lol. my attitude towards turtles changed differently... one day i was walking around.. nothing happened.. and now i have four turtles.. but i'm very happy with them Smile

and to think, if i wouldn't have found dax in the swimming pool one day.. i would have never met any of you! Sad
