hey hey, i just got a teeny little painted turtle.. ( i think thats what it is anyways ) about the size of a quarter, lively little fellow.. ive had my box turtle for 15 years, but i know nothing about these water turtle types..

the box turtle is named Joey (i got HER when i was 5 and was determined it was a boy.. lol only to find out later when she laid some eggs..) the little guy doesnt have a name yet, i just found him today while i was out fishing. the box is in oklahoma with my parent's while i am in the military, i shall get her back in '08 when i get out. im gonna go take some pix of the new guy, brb..

pix are uploading.. he is swimming around like he owns the place.. its a little 1 gallon tank. lol. ive got a larger 30 gallon he will live in later, i didnt plan on getting another turtle so i need to set it up.

That's a very cute turtle, I just saw a little RES in a small pond at a park that me and my girlfriend went to, I was trying to take a picture with my PDA but I needed to get closer, needless to say, the RES didn't wait for me to get closer. Sad

well, i visited the reptile shop, and im gonna build him a turtle tank out of a 30gallon on friday... i cant wait!!! Very Happy

hes definitally a painted turtle. my Robin looks just like him, only Robins a bit bigger (about the size of the palm of my hand)... like dixeee said ask any questions ya like... id love to be able to share my expirience with you! Very Happy

YAY!! he started eating today! my wife saw it and got all excited! hehehe... we were worried he wasnt gonna eat but he started munchindown on the little baby turtle sticks i bought at the reptile shop. now alls i gotta do is buy the uv lighting and the plexy glass so i can build the tank for him. this is gonna be SWEET! heeh.. i missed having a turtle.
