There are flakes in the pond I have outside, not really flakes but like ever gotten really sun burnt then pealed then taken a bath or shower and the water. That's what the water looks like at the top but very small flakes whiteish clear, lots of them.
This weekend I cleaned the pond Sat, and I had to change the water the same evening cause I guess I had some soap in it. Then I changed about 20% of it out cause it was very hot when I got home from the beach today. Then this afternoon I changed it cause it was really ugly the water with all that in it, that was just a few hours ago and it's like that again any clues? |

Hmm, might need more information. How many turtles? How old? What kind of plant life?
From what you've given it sounds like shedding but it sounds like a lot. It means that your turtles are growing (I don't think they sunburn )
It could be other things as well... The pond liner might have gotten baked in the sun, and is faking. Plant matter. Things falling into the pond even. How are the turtles acting? Are they active? Have they changed behavior? Do you even have turtles?! |

u said that u have to change the water cause it was too warm...so i assume that they get a lot of sunshine lately(correct me if i'm wrong)
is it possible that ur water is hard and the flaky stuff was just mineral deposit from the water evaporation?!?
cause i have a fishtank and i always have that kind of flake around the basking light.... _________________ i'm not a expert,i just try to help.... |
