I swear I heard my turtle MEOW. This is the weirdest thing ever, but I thought there was a cat in my room, and I looked over, and one of my turtles was meowing!!!!! Did my turtle eat a cat or is this normal?? BTW, it didn\'t seem like a sickly cough or sneeze noise, more like my turtle was trying to sing or something! _________________ Fred and Bobette are my best friends ... |

It is what is known as vocalization, kind of a mix between a meow and a low growl but so quiet you can barely hear it. Like the turtle in this wav file:

Yep, that was the noise. It was really weird, I have never heard either of my RES\'s make a noise before. Thanks! _________________ Fred and Bobette are my best friends ... |

wow! that's really interesting!
i've been hearing that a lot in my room lately (i have my turtle's tank set up in there) and i just thought i had a frog in my room! (the wildlife tends to take over my house.. )
but i'm glad you asked, because i had no idea what it was myself.. lol _________________
