I have two RES and one yellow belly slider. One of the RES is a male for sure and the yellow belly is a female for sure. These two are mature ~ 5-6 in shell. The other RES is very small ~2 in shell. Both the male mature RES and baby RES are vibrating their claws in the female\'s face. I have not seen any of them mate at this point. My concern is that the male RES has now bitten the neck of both of the other turtles. I have separated him from them for ~24 hours and then re-introduced them. Is the biter just showing dominance? Will he stop biting, or should I separate him permanently?
Any advice would be great!
Thanks! |

There is really no telling. You need to watch closely so one doesn\'t get injured to bad, but it may be that they have to be permanently seperated. I would keep an eye on it a bit and see what happens.
