I have a couple male Eastern Painted Turtles and a couple females living in my backyard 5000 gallon pond (in Oregon). I am not sure of their age, but will they mate when they are ready? What do I need in the pond? It is enclosed so they cant escape, but what kind of place do they need to lay eggs? Anything will help, thanks guys!

If they are 5 years old, they will mate. What you need is a spot made of sand or dirt for ur female turtle to climb onto to lay the eggs if she is pregnant. Good luck!

Thanks a lot Amez, I think im going to make a place next to the water that has just sand so she can lay eggs if she wants. Does it matter how deep? and if she ever lays eggs, should i bring them inside to make sure they get the right temp? Thanks all!
