Just yesterday, I received a Red Ear Slider as a gift. I spent all yesterday evening setting up his home, and I added newspaper. But this morning I found him buried under it, and there is a bit of water. My concern is this: will he drown? I think he was sleeping in it, so I took out some water, but he can still submerge his head under it. He's also really small (like 2 inches). What should I do? Thanks. |

You can put more water in there. I promise he won't drown. As for the newspaper, I've never needed it. I just put some very smooth flat river bed rocks in there...when my two little ones want out they climb right out and sun theirselves. Make sure your basking area is big enough for him to stretch out totally...and that it is out of the water...hope this helps!!!!!!! _________________ Brandy |

| Thank you, I got a bit worried this morning. He's been doing that on/off today. But how many Tetra Repto Min sticks should I feed him a day? Thanks again. |

Sorry, I haven't checked this thing recently. Um, try 5-7 sticks at first. If he goes after the stuff, then feed him a little more. My two go through a bottle in about a month. Yours should go a little less than that. Hope this helps. Let me know how he is. _________________ Brandy |

| I wouldn't put newspaper in the bottom of the tanks. Flat rocks work really well though. |
