Hi,
I recently found a hatchling Florida red-bellied turtle (nose horn, but no egg yolk). I have never owned a turtle before, but I don't want it to die.
The problem I am having is that he/she is not eating. I tried live mealworms when the romaine lettuce, carrots, and hatchling turtle pellets I tried feeding him didn't work. I really want the little guy to live.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
A.
I have pictures of the enclosure, but I'm not sure how to upload them. |

You say you found it. The best thing to do is return the little one to the wild. There is no reason to pick up a wild turtle and keep it as a pet. By doing so, you are upsetting the environment.
If you want a pet turtle, please get one from a pet store or check the local classifieds. But please don't take them from their wild home. _________________ R.I.P. Steve Irwin |
