It was one year ago this coming Thursday that I brought Phil home from that strange lady's sink - happy pseudo-birthday Philly!!!

Philly is so awesome! I'm really glad you didn't just go to the local pet store and buy an abused turtle, that would just support the pet store so they can get more animals to abuse. Looking for one from a breeder or somebody who can't or doesn't want to take care of the turtle anymore is really the way to go _________________ R.I.P. Steve Irwin |

That's a good looking turtle, I like the picture with him trying to get in the door. _________________

aemiller7973, you have a Diamond Back Terrapin (DBT). They are an especially beautiful turtle!
Please check with your local fish and game department, as DBTs are protected in some states. _________________ R.I.P. Steve Irwin |

Thanks everybody for the compliments & especially for all of the advise over the past year - you have no idea how much it's helped. I think she's awesome but have to confess to being a little biased. Those are two of my favorite pictures of her, though I wasn't too amused when I first saw what she'd done to her ramp! As for her trying to get thru the door, I felt bad because I think she was getting a little frustrated but it was so funny:lol: Still love watching her coast around & am really glad that I got her.
Also, happy b-day to Bowser, he & I are both 1 day away from being goblins! _________________

that's so cool Hbeth!!! bowser says he feels like you guys are connected now!!! but he's a little fruity. Any turtle who tries to cuddle fish instead of eating obviously has issues. Not saying any names but.... BOWSER... _________________ 2 RES: Bowser Male 1.75yrs, Peach Female .75yrs

That reminds me of my dog when I walk her. She sees another dog and the hair on her back stands up, she starts growling and barking, acting all tough. Then the other dog does a single bark and my dog runs behind me with her tail tucked between her legs! _________________ R.I.P. Steve Irwin |

For Bowser, I think he should be respected for taking a stand against eating roommates Phil's down to only one minnow from the 7 or so that she got before Thanksgiving last year. Are minnows even supposed to LIVE that long, much less with a predator???
As for the dogs, that is funny! My dog will guard against anything over 20 lbs, man or beast (no distinction in some cases) but some little purse-sized dog barks at her, she nearly tears my arm off to escape! _________________
