Hello I have two Ringed Map Turtles which are still babies and we got them Turtles sticks. One Will eat the Sticks. Actually the One LOVES the sticks and really doesn't want anything else It wont even eat worm. But my Other Turtle Will NOT eat the sticks. He will eat a worm tho. Is this okay if not how do we fix the problem and get the One turtle to eat the sticks. |

I'm going to assume that Turtle Sticks are pellets... I'm pretty sure that worms are supposed to be like treats for turtles (I personally haven't used them). Turtles need more nutrients than just protein, so I'd say for a while feed them only the pellets/sticks and your turtle will eat it. They can live a long time between feedings, so don't worry that he'll starve. What he's going to do is make you think that he's starving so you'll give in and give him treats only. When both your turtles have been eating the pellets/sticks for a few days then you can give them worms again. _________________ I've had Dexter since December of '08. He's a 3.5" RES. <3

It could be possible that the turtle doesn't like the pellet food. You could try feeding a different pellet diet. Try feeding more variety such as fruits and vegetables. Some good fruits and vegetables are slices of carrot, mango, and apple.
Also, there was a time when my turtle would not eat ANYTHING. I tried hand feeding him and he finally took the food. _________________ R.I.P. Steve Irwin |
