I found this site through a search while trying to figure out what kind of turtles I have. I found that one is a red eared slider male (I think) but I'm not sure what the other one is. It is the exact same size as the first one, I think it's a female going by postings on this message board from others but I'm not sure. I have a pretty good set up with them and hope that they are happy. The one that I think is a female tends to come up to the glass anytime that I walk by. I put some fish in the tank with them and they gobbled them up. Also feeding them turtle pellets and fresh/frozen scallops. I hope to get to know you and learn some valuable information.

Hello and welcome! This is a great place to ask questions and learn about turtles. Hopefully you like it here. You should post a pictures of your turtle if you haven't already figured out what your other turtle is. Usually we can figure out what kind you have... well I can't, but others can. How big are your turtles? _________________ I've had Dexter since December of '08. He's a 3.5" RES. <3

Thanks for the warm welcome. Here is a pic of the female (I think)... any help on what kind she is would be helpful. Both turtles are approximately 6 inches long (shell).

I didn't know if she was the same as the other one because 'he' has very prominent red markings on his face. Thanks for helping me It seems like all she does is eat and lay on top of the male lol |
