Hi. I\'ve been posting and reading from this site for a while, but I\'ve never introduced myself. My name is Krysta and I live in Ohio. To be more specific, West Salem, Ohio. If anyone else is from OH, give me a holla. I\'m 16, soon to be 17. I\'ve been in love with turtles since I got my first one 3 years ago. I own 4 RES:Yoshi, Lui, Penny, and Paco; 2 mississippi maps: Trash, and Pebbles; 2 Spiny softshells: Qbert, and Snorkle; and one common snapper: Mase!
I previously owned a third map, Ginsuix, but he died three days after I got him. Four eastern painted turtles once inhabited my back yard (Phil, Aroura, Vedel, and Goe), but I recently set them free into a creek near my house.
There\'s so much more to say about these awesome pets, but I really must go. I can\'t wait to hear from you!

I am from NY, Long Island to be exact, so I am nowhere near Ohio. I only have one turtle, but I have a few questions for you...

1. Where did you get your maps? I have a mississippi map, and I have wanted to get a few more for a while. I think I found a breeder, but I know nothing of the reputation.

2. Do your maps have problems shedding scutes? Mine is growing/shedding now and her scutes seem to never fall of. (I have been told this is normal, and there is no rot, don\'t worry)

I got my maps from reptile shows. You can find them all over the internet, and there might be one near you. I have the same problem, but I didn\'t know what it was. I hope it\'s not shell rot. Anyway, it was nice talking to you. I\'ll tell you if I find any reptile shows in your area.
