I don't think my Red Eared Slider turtle gets enough attention. Can I play with him or something? Because I want him to know his owner (me). I've taken him out of his tank and let him run around on the floor once, and I sometimes sit next to his tank and make him follow my finger, and I talk to him. Does anyone know how to give a pet turtle proper attention?

Not really necessary to "play" with your turtles. They are wonderful creatures, but they are not "cuddle" pets like cats or dogs, nor do they require that sort of attention. That said, turtles clearly do exhibit some kind of interaction with owners. Following your finger along the aquarium, begging for good, swimming around watching you.

Don't apply human or even cat/dog emotions or needs to your reptile, but don't ignore it either. They do have personalities of sorts...

i play with my turtles and have trained them and they seem to enjoy chasing this tiny blue bouncy ball i just cant let them eat any or they will get sick Smile but they are pretty good with not biting it and i have a little playpen so i can let them run around in it and i spray them with wwater every 5-10 mins and besides that you can pet them or feed them by hand which they realy seem to love ^-^ my turtles go up to the top of the water and when i put my hand near their heads they rub them on me and they r so cute ^-^

I have two turtles one is very friendly when I let her out to play in the lounge I lay on the floor and she comes over and climbs all over me. She used to be scared when I first got her as a baby but now she loves to be scratched under the chin she stratches it right out.
