So lately, my turtle has been acting a bit strange, but I want to ask you guys if you think anything is wrong.
First off, its a red eared slider that is about a year old.
Lately, he's been picking one spot underwater and just sitting there for long amounts of time, usually at the bottom of the tank near the river rocks. He is breathing fine, and swims to the top of the tank when I come close, but he's never really done this before. Usually he's swimming all over the place, but this has been happening for around a week or so. Also, i've noticed him dozing off during the day, which he's never done (or i've never seen him do) He doesn't sleep for long, but its still something I noticed.
The strange this is his appetite has been the same. He eats every other day (which i just started to do a few weeks back) His diet consists mostly of carrots, lettuce, pellets, and some fruits.
I've noticed no difference in his swimming, no lopsidedness or irregular behavior other than those two things. Any thoughts? |
