You know, I have never heard of any one mention "Garage sales", that's where I got my 30 gallon tank, it cost me about 10 bucks, not a bad deal don't you think
Looking around at flea markets, garage sales, yard sales, things like that, you'd be surprised what you find. _________________

It's not unreasonable. After taxes and with delivery, not bad really. The lights are definitely some of the most expensive pieces. I note you didn't include food
Buying new, you're really not going to find it much cheaper. Possibly have gotten the aquarium cheaper if you went used, but... eh. At least this way you can take it back if it don't work right (does it have warranty at all)?
I don't know where you live, but if you're anywhere near a Big Al's, they have great prices on aquariums and reasonable prices on accessories. Consider I got my 75 gallon tank for only like 160 bucks. Petsmart wants probably 300. |

I never said it was a bad deal, but just reminding others to look for options when shopping for expensive tanks, the filtration probably should be bought new though. _________________

Wow 75 gallons for 160! That's great, but such a good bargain would have been counter productive to me budget.
I'd of had to spend more on a filter, and gotten a submersible heater for sure, plus might of had to upgraded the sizes of lamps and such.
I tried my best, called over a dozen pet shops that were in reasonable range for a guy that uses public transport, but I never found a discount store... and here in Montreal, Quebec... Well there is no garage sales this time of year! |

Everything looked like a reasonable price, except the clamp lamps seem a little bit exepensive.
I think PetSmarts prices are pretty good sometimes, I got my 55 gallon there when it was on sale for only 100 |
