Can anyone tell me how to keep the stones/rocks clean? The stones in my aquarium seem to become dirty and slimy and then it causes the water to become nasty. Is there a way to prevent this?

well you could not have stones, but then your tank looks all dirty on the bottom, or just do frequent water changes. Stir it all up, without the turtles in it, and suck most of the water out, then refil and atleast the waters clean. Not a great answwer, but i have the same problem

I seen the pet shop people use this suction thing that pulls up the substrate, swirls water around it to loosen the fecies, and pulls it up.
How are those things, I'm thinking I might skip it and just empty the hole tank when I need too, dump the rocks in a bucket, rinse with water till they ain't stinky anymore.

those are called gravel vacs. the one i use at work works really well. theres two diffrent kinds, one that you can hook up to a sink, or one that you basicly need to power on your own. but they both work great.

What about that Tidy Turtle stuff, you know the liquid with the bacteria in it that is supposed to help break down organic waste? That is why I keep my turtle tanks bare on bottom, just scrub with a pad and suck the water out.
