I just cleaned my turtle tank almost 2 weeks ago. It is a 50 gallon tank about 3/4 full of water. The water is almost yellow! I do not know what to do. I have a filter and a sucker fish in there. Please help!

you should probably do a bucket water change, about 10 % every week. Every weekend I just fill a bucket full of their dirty water and replace it. It helps with the matinance. @ weeks is the most you should go without cleaning

What type of filter do you have? Maybe the filter is not adequate for the size of tank. Spending the money on a quality filter can make a world of difference. I am new to the aquatic turtle scene but have had fish aquariums most of my life and a good filter will save you a lot of headaches.

I have two cascade type filters, they clean ok, but I never had the money to upgrade, maybe someday.

I tried the setup with two cascade type filters that cleaned well, but the noise was more than I cared to deal with so I recently went with the Fluval canister. The canister filter works extremely well.

I have a fish aquarium which I am also going to upgrade to the canister filter. I never had a problem with the cascade type with fish so I never even considered a canister, but seing the difference, I am now sold.
