Hello. I have been reading the boards for some time and finally became a member.
I have a Mexican Painted Wood Turtle that I have had for several years and just became the new owner of two red eared sliders that I house in a 55 gallon tank.
The wood turtle is about 6-7 inches in diameter and the sliders are young and quite small. About 1 1/2 to 2 inches.
The wood turtle is currently hibernating and seems to like it that way. No matter what I do, he seems insistant on hibernating. He is healthy so I let him have his way, nature after all. Not as fun to watch when he has burried himself and does not move.
I keep the water temperature warm enouh for the sliders that I will not have that same problem with them.
OVer time, I have learned much from the members here and hope that I may be able to contribute with some of my experiences as time goes on.
Thank you everyone for all of your information. |
