I have a turtle very similar to the red eared slider, but its stripe colors are red and green, not yellow and green; and the ear mark is yellow, not red. do you know what that is??
also, I have two red eared sliders, and they put their front legs in front of them, and shake them or vibrate them at the other turtle. also, sometimes they snap or bite at each other. is this normal? |

It would help if we could see a picture of your turtle to see what kind it is, as for the hand waving, it is either a territorial thing or a mating thing, both are normal, the territorial one would be potentially bad since they might bite a hand off or at least injure the other turtle. _________________

| I looked at him last night, and his body stripes are red and green, but the head stripes are yellow and green. The person who gave him to me I think found him somewhere outside, so it is probably a native Pennsylvania turtle. But it is not the same as the red eared sliders. I may take his picture sometime and post it. thanks. |
