| Had Dudley for about a year now and he still wont eat anything but meal worms. No veggies, no regular turtle food, no treats, no nothing but worms and canned tuna/chicken. I know they are suppose to have greens, etc. in their diet but Dudley is strickly a meat eater. He seems to be happy and healthy. He even appears to play with his buddy, an algae eater. I just want him to stay healthy. I know a protein diet is suppose to eventually cause some problems but after a year he still seems okay. Any thoughts/ideas? |

Try soaking the pellets in tuna juice, at 1 year old, he is still a baby, you have to think that they age about the same as humans, also, they are the reverse of human babies, human babies won't eat meat until they have their teeth, which is about two years old or so, turtles are about the same but in reverse, they probably won't eat veggies until they are about 5 years old or so. _________________

| Thanks for the help. I'll try soaking pellets and see what happens. I really don't know how old Dudley is and the pet store didn't have a clue (naturally). I think he's pretty young because he's only about 4 to 5 inchs from head to tail. I'll be patient and wait until he matures a bit then hopefully he'll start eating other things. Thanks again. |
