Start here:
http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/caresheet-red_ear_slider.htm
Browse that site, there are lots of good articles and information.
If you just got your turtles, they probably need to get comfortable. Don't worry too much, let them get accustomed to their home. Just keep feeding... he might not seem to take much for a few days or even weeks, but he'll get around to it.
They WILL need a much bigger tank than that, that's tiny for one turtle, much less two. Read the caresheet and go from there. If you can't get them an indoor UV light, make sure they get sun and lots of calcium from supplements or cuttlebones... |

Put in rocks that are too big for them to eat.
Do you mean you have the water very shallow? They are sliders, very capable of swimming. Again, check out the caresheet. They should have water to turn around, swim in etc and a place to get out and bask and dry off.
If by drilling you mean digging or something, that's fine, my turtle is always rooting around for something. |

| You really can't tell until they get older and begin to mature. Over a year you should be able to see the differences. Tucker has VERY long claws and a long, thick tail. Definitely a male. |

Basking means to sunbathe, like people do at the beach, some like to do it alot and others not so much, like the others said, RES can swim very well, they at least need enough water so that if they flip over they can turn themselves back upright. It will take them some time to get used to their new surroundings, how long depends on the turtle, some take a week, some take longer, while others get used to it right away, same goes for eating, they get stressed out very easily, so give them some time to get comfortable. _________________
