Wow... well, here's where the tough decision comes in. You can opt to leave them together and hope this is a one-time thing. By doing so, you risk injury or death to one or both of your turtles. The fight sounded really bad, the turtle wouldn't let go of his bite on the other's leg!
Your best bet is probably to separate them immediately. They might not fight again. They might and you catch it. They might and you're not home and a turtle is dead.
It might be time to separate them. The hard part now is, can you afford to do that? New tank or at least a rubbermaid or something, filter, light, heater... etc.
Best of luck and please keep the board updated with your lovely turtles situation! |

mine ocasionally nips the other ones back leg too, but not to where he wont let go
im sure its adequate, but sometimes it a fight for space, how big is your tank, and how big are they |

amm i think it is a 60 gallon, they are still only babies, really small it was the smaller of the two that bit the other! the turtle was struggling and the other turtle released him!! _________________ I love Tom and Geri!!!

either the turtle was hungry or he does not like the other turtle if it happens 1 more time then separate them and try putting fish in the tank with them _________________
glitter-graphics.com |
