Hi there,
A couple of weeks ago I purchased the Exo Terra brand porcelain clamp lamp. It can take up to 100watt bulbs, but I've been using the 50 watt Exo Terra daylight spot bulbs. Twice now, the bulbs have blown after a couple of days. From my internet research they should last about 3000 of continuous use. I keep the lamp on during the day and turn it off at night. The store from which I purchased the lamp and bulbs said that if I leave it on "that long" then I should expect to be replacing the bulbs every couple of days. I find it hard to imagine that anyone would think that a bulb lasting 2-3 days is acceptable. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Is it typical for these bulbs or perhaps just this brand? Is there another brand I should be using?

firstly, how could any1 afford to replace a bulb blowing every 3 days, second, I just got a painters plamp, or whatever it is (something like that) and I just keep a 75 watt bulb in it

that was my point.. no way i can afford to buy specialty bulbs every couple of days.. so is it alright to use a regular light bulb?

no no, I'd use he heat lamp, but either try a different one, or get a different lamp or something. Most bulbs, reptiglo, or watever done blow after 3 days tho, so it might just be your lamp.
